Breathe.

Relax.

Let go.

What is reflexology?

Reflexology dates back thousands of years, to ancient Egypt, India and China. It is a unique method of acupressure therapy which aims to optimise both physical and emotional health.
Thumb pressure is applied to specific reflex points in the feet and hands, which correspond to all the various parts of the body. The treatment brings balance to the body and its systems, caused by stress, injury or illness.
I have completed additional training in Clinical Reflexology – for clients living with cancer and autoimmune disorders, and also Maternity / Postnatal Reflexology – supporting mums to be on their pregnancy journey.
The continued personal development expands my knowledge to support my clients and optimise their treatments, and  keeps me up to date!
Keep an eye on my blog and social media accounts to see what I’m up to!

What can it do for  you?

Clients experience a variety of  benefits, including:

                                                                                       reduction in stress, tension, anxiety

improved sleep patterns

hormonal balance

improved digestion

relief from neck, back and joint stiffness

sinus relief

pain relief

increased energy

feelings of calm

improved general health

Reflexology works holistically, and aims to support all the systems of the body. It will improve circulation bringing more oxygen to cells, aid detoxification through healthy elimination, and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system – the rest and digest system – inducing deep relaxation and healing.

What to expect

Reflexology sessions will usually take around an hour, the first session will be longer as we will discuss your health picture to identify any current areas for concern and your treatment needs. This will include medical history, digestive health, menstrual cycle, sleep pattern, emotional health etc.

The treatment will take place in a reclining chair or couch and your feet will be wrapped in warm towels. Gentle thumb and finger pressure will be used to stimulate or calm specific points in the feet that correspond to all the various parts of the body. Reflexology is a very relaxing treatment to receive.

Clients experience a range of feelings after their treament. Some report immediate relief or calm,a better nights sleep and some people will experience strong reactions like emotional release,or symptoms increasing for a day or two. There is no right way to feel, and your body will simply release what it needs to. Generally speaking you should feel an improvement with each session.

Maternity reflexology

I received Reflexology through both of my pregnancies which I found extremely helpful in many ways. It inspired me to expand my knowledge in Maternity related issues so I could support mums to be on their pregnancy journey. Sessions can usually begin from week 13 (second trimester).
Maternity clients find relief from hormonal related symptoms, morning sickness, sleeplessness, aches and pains, labour and birth.
Receiving Reflexology in the 6 weeks following birth is a wonderful way to bond with your baby. Mums often like to have their treatments at home at this stage, you can cuddle up and feed your baby if needed. The treatment will gently support your body through the healing process, support breastfeeding and  help balance hormones.
Research shows that women who have regular reflexology treatments during pregnancy, have had shorter and less intense labour experiences.
